  • Bookings and quotes with James Cooper can be made in our bookings page https://www.dayoneateliercom.au/finelines

  • You must be 18 years old. It is illegal in South Australia to tattoo anyone under the age of 18 (even with parental consent) with a penalty of $5,000 or 12 months imprisonment. A valid photo ID will need to be presented on the day of your appointment.

  • Yes, we require $100 deposit per appointment to confirm all bookings. See our Tattoo Terms and Conditions for more information.

  • Deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances including illness.

    If you need to reschedule, we require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice via email—we do not accept cancellations or reschedules via Instagram or Facebook.

    You are allowed one reschedule, and it must be rebooked within 3 months of your original appointment. Any further reschedules, failure to rebook within that time, or notice given within 72 hours will result in the forfeit of your deposit.

    No-shows will also result in the loss of deposit and future bookings will not be accepted.

  • All deposits are invoiced and paid online to confirm your booking.

    The remaining balance is due on the day of your appointment and is cash only.

  • We DO NOT tattoo pregnant/breastfeeding women, people under the age of 18 (even with parental consent) or anyone under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

  • We recommend you have some food before your appointment and stay hydrated, you may want to bring some snacks or a drink with you for longer sessions. Please bring photo ID to your appointment.

    Having the tattoo area “hair-free” before the appointment would be appreciated.

  • A little! It’s never as bad as we imagine it to be, and we will take good care of you.

    Over-the-counter numbing cream can be applied to the area to help you through your tattoo. We will only tattoo using EMLA or Numb It cream, which can be purchased at your local pharmacy.

    Please note that we will not tattoo clients if TKTX has been used.

  • No, as we strive to maintain a calm and relaxing atmosphere in our studio, we kindly ask that clients attend their appointments alone. Our reception area has limited seating, which is reserved for clients who are being tattooed. Thank you for your understanding!

  • Sure do! At day one tattoo we use Aussie Inked and couldn’t recommend a better product for tattoo aftercare. Click link on how to care for your new tattoo.

  • If you have had an appointment recently with James Cooper and require a touch-up, please email us with a recent picture of the tattoo. Touch-ups are priced from $40.00 and must be requested within 2 months of the original tattoo. Please note that for requests made after 2 months of original, pricing may change.
